Hoping FUR a Cure
By Wendy | December 29, 2008
Just like everyone else out there, all of us here at The Vermont Teddy Bear Company hope that in our lifetimes, a cure for cancer will be found. And we celebrate everyone who has fought or is fighting the fight, including some members of our very own Bear Crew. Earlier this year, we began offering a new collection of Vermont Teddy Bears in our Hope & Health gallery, which includes Bears wearing T-shirts with colored ribbons representing different types of cancer (as well as fights against other illnesses and causes). There’s even a Vermont Teddy Bear wearing a T-shirt that says “Cancer Sucks!”
We also continue to get inquiries through our Custom-Made Outfit program from people who want to have an outfit specially designed for a loved one fighting cancer, like the one you see here, which we’ve dubbed the “Eat ‘Em Up Bear.”
As part of their treatment, people battling cancer are often encouraged to visualize something attacking or eliminating their cancer cells. And one loving husband had this Bear created for his wife, a cancer survivor who used a video game monster eating pellets as her visualization. Eat ‘em up…and let’s continue to fight hard together FUR a cure.
