Bearvolution Signage

By Nate | September 12, 2007

Click for larger image of Bearvolution sign posted on a mirrorI don’t know if they’ve made it up to the Newport Factory, but here in Shelburne little signs have begun popping up in such places as copiers and bathroom mirrors. It’s the run-up to a significant branding campaign called Bearvolution, and it’s been in the works for a while.

Part of the effort included asking full-time employees to perform a “random act of kindness” (in exchange for an extra day off after Independence Day, w00t!), after which we described the act, how it made us feel, and how VTBC might be able to effect the same kind of positive change as a company.

More details of Bearvolution are to come tomorrow with special “Meet the Prez” meetings. Honestly, I’ve never gone through this kind of thing before, so I don’t know what to expect. I know that trying to marry social with fiduciary responsibility is no easy task (for example, what’s good for the environment in the long run may not be good for our bottom line in Q4), but the opportunity to generate good corporate karma appeals to my idealism. So…Here’s hopin’!
