Monday, August 20th, 2007OK, no “dog days of summer” jokes, just a hearty Teddy Bear welcome to Blaze, Mark Holland’s new lab/pit bull mix. Today I found Blaze chillin’ with Mark in his cubicle, but before long I expect she’ll be pitching in, taking customer calls, maybe sitting in on marketing meetings.
Congratulations, Mark! I wonder if it’s too [...]
We Make Lead-Free USA Toys
Friday, August 17th, 2007Thanks to Deborah Barrow, founder of The Daily Green, for including Vermont Teddy Bear in her list of US-made (i.e., lead-free) toys. Our Vermont-made Teddy Bears are part of a short list that includes such American classics as Kazoo and Louisville Slugger.
Postscript: We made it onto another nice list a couple of days later…
Cynthia Rocks
Thursday, August 16th, 2007Hey, what were you doing when you were 12? Here’s what Cynthia Sullivan was doing: Rocking. The. Mic.
OK, so I don’t know how rocking her family’s band really was, but I do know that she debuted at 12, and she’s been in lots of bands since then, most recently local fave Smokin’ Gun.
Cynthia’s been treating [...]
Happy Birthday, Bill Cronin!
Wednesday, August 15th, 2007OK, so I’m a couple of days late, but I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to recognize Bill’s birthday.
There probably aren’t many E-Commerce directors who can actually code Perl and JavaScript themselves, but Bill’s in that select league. He started out at VTB a couple of years ago in the IT [...]
Green-Up Day Feedback?
Wednesday, August 15th, 2007What did everyone think about the company-wide Green Up Day? Was it as success? Did you enjoy cleaning out junk and recycling paper? Are there changes you would like to see for next year? Feel free to share.
Bocce at VTB
Tuesday, August 14th, 2007I remember when I told a friend that I was starting at Vermont Teddy Bear, she asked, “Are you going to do bocce?” Bocce? The same game I used to see the old guys playing in Carroll Gardens 30 years ago?
Come to find out, yes, there’s an annual bocce tournament here. And sure enough, [...]
Teddy Bear on a Cross-Country Trip
Monday, August 13th, 2007He may be taking the summer off from blogging, but by April JB Bear had racked up 51 posts about his cross-country travels with owners Jan and Pamm.
JB Bear’s a 15″ Vermont Teddy Bear with Buttercream fur, maybe a Police Officer Bear on vacation (and with a substantial wardrobe in tow).
Keeping “JB Across America” going [...]
Customer Finds a Winning Bear
Friday, August 3rd, 2007From “Amy’s Blog” http://mynextsteps.blogspot.com
As we all knew I would, I broke down and ordered one of the holiday bears from the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. They had sent me an email with a one week sale but I didn’t think I needed a new bear. Then I couldn’t decide which to get. … RUNNER GIRL [...]
Meeting-Free Fridays
Friday, August 3rd, 2007Wouldn’t it be great if one day a week was set aside to be completely meeting-free? A day to get all the things done that have piled up all week while we’ve been in other meetings? I think we should declare Fridays “Meeting-Free Fridays!” Seems like a very “Be Bear” thing to do; in line [...]
Happy Birthday, Michelle Delisle!
Friday, August 3rd, 2007Our web sites would slow down to a grinding halt if it weren’t for the steady eye, quick hand, and good judgment of Michelle Delisle. And with 11 years’ experience, she’s a treasure trove of Vermont Teddy Bear facts and lore.
I’m a day early, but I’d like to take the opportunity to wish Michelle [...]
